Rock of Solutré

A must-see spot for a family hike! At an elevation of 495 meters, the Roche de Solutré lies at the heart of the Grand Site de France, which includes Solutré, Pouilly, and Vergisson. It’s a beautiful hike, and once you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a magnificent 360° panorama: to the south, a view of the Beaujolais hills; to the east, the Saône plains; and to the north, the Val Lamartinien.
On your way back, be sure to visit the Museum of Prehistory, located at the base of the rock, which will help you understand the site’s archaeological significance.
